Puppy Sales Contract

We, Ike and Kourtney Buffington the breeders/owners of the said puppy (described below) hereafter referred to as “Seller”, do enter into an agreement with, hereafter referred to as “Buyer” for the purpose of transferring ownership of said puppy.

The said puppy is a purebred American Pit Bull Terrier sired by UKC Registered ‘PR’ Buffs Blue Diesel dam is UKC Registered ‘PR’ Pitts Blue Princess Avabelle. The puppy to be born on April 17th of 2010 and registration paperwork with the UKC is included as part of this agreement.

UKC Application for permanent registration will be given to Buyer when the puppy is delivered on or after 8 weeks of age.

Seller guarantees pup to be delivered in good health, current on vaccinations, and free of Distemper, Parvo, Parainfluenza, and any life threatening genetic defect.

All puppies will have a current health certificated from a licensed Veterinary Clinic.

Puppies will be dewormed at time of shipping or pick up, and a normal deworming should follow as recommended by your vet. Additional shots and dewormings are the responsibility of the buyer. Any pup that develops an illness related to lack of shots or dewormings will NOT be replaced. It is the responsibility of the new owner to keep up with all vaccinations.

Buyer agrees to follow up with a Veterinary Clinic within 2 weeks of receiving the pup. At that time, if it is determined the pup has any of the above or if the pup is found to have a genetic defect, Buffs Blue Pits Kennels will replace the pup. We do reserve the right to ask for a second opinion on any findings by the said Vet.

The Seller reserves the right to inquire about and inspect the dogs housing and quarters. If the Seller finds the dog in an unsanitary and/or in poor health condition, the Seller has the right to take the dog back from the Buyer with no compensation to the Buyer.

Buyer will make themselves very aware of any possible bans, ordinances, etc. in their county, community, and/or country that are breed specific. As a responsible American Pit Bull Terrier owner, Buyer must regularly check up on these possibilities as well as promote the breed in an extremely positive manner.

Buyer agrees that this puppy/dog will not be used for any inhumane, immoral, or illegal purposes. If it is determined that the buyer has or is using said puppy/dog in this manner the Seller has the right to take back possession of said puppy/dog without compensation to the Buyer.

If the puppy is bought for show/breed, the Buyer agrees that the puppy will be examined for eye defects and hip dysplasia before breeding. If the puppy is determined to have eye defects, dysplasia, communicable diseases and/or hereditary defects or faults, it shall not be used for breeding and shall be spayed or neutered with the knowledge of the Breeder.

The Buyer certifies that this puppy will be a family dog, raised and socialized as part of a family and not an outdoor or kennel dog. Dogs are pack animals and must be part of a close knit family pack to maintain emotional and mental stability.

The Buyer certifies, by signing this contract, that the puppy will live with the Buyer, be confined by a fenced yard (or supervised), not be chained or tethered, will have adequate exercise, nutritious food, and necessary health care, including yearly vaccinations/worming.

The Buyer hereby agrees that if at anytime the Buyer cannot take proper care of the puppy, the Buyer must contact the Seller and the Seller will have the first choice to either: (a) take the Puppy back or (b) assist the Buyer in finding a suitable home for the puppy. Under no circumstances will the buyer ever place this Pit Bull Terrier in an animal shelter, pound, or any pet store of any type.

Seller strongly recommends that Buyer provide proper socialization opportunities for the puppy and attend a basic obedience class with the puppy.

We the Seller(s) of this puppy would appreciate all news related to the puppy especially pictures, emails, news of accomplishments, problems with training or anything we could help with.

The Buyer agrees to notify the Seller of any changes of address during the puppy’s lifetime.

The Buyer certifies, by signing this contract, the he/she is not acting as an agent in this purchase, that the Buyer will not resell this puppy to a pet store, guard dog business or medical research facility. This contract is made and signed by both the Seller and the Buyer for the well being of the said puppy. If the Buyer breaches any part of this agreement, the remainder of the agreement will be considered null and void, and the Seller will have the right to repossess the puppy.

*The undersigned (Buyer) agrees to uphold all covenants of this Agreement to insure the well being and protection of the puppy/dog. If Buyer breaches any part of this Agreement,

Seller is released from any obligation under this Agreement. Buyer agrees that he/she understands this Agreement fully and that this Agreement is under the jurisdiction of the State of Maryland in the County of Frederick.

By placing a deposit on a breeding, you fully understand that we can not guarantee color for any pick. Once the puppies are born, picks will be made in order. First pick, second pick, ect. We will NOT issue refunds due to coat colors.

In the event a breeding does not take, your pick is not available due to not enough pups or the sex you have reserved is not produced we will gladly allow you to transfer your deposit on another puppy or breeding.

Puppies are required to be paid for in full by 8 weeks of age. If at 8 weeks of age the pup has not been paid for in full, you will forfeit your deposit. If you change your mind on a pup, your deposit may be transferred to any available pup at that time however will not be refunded.

• It is the Buyers responsibility to ensure that seller has correct contact information.

If Buyer should have a phone number and or email address change it is the buyers responsibility to notify the seller. Seller will not attempt to track down the buyer down if information changes. If we are unable to reach you when it is time for Puppy Picks to be made you will lose your pick and could lose your puppy and your deposit so please be sure information below is correct!!
